Introducing All Guard Products NEW TeakGuard Super Teak Cleaner

It is with great pleasure that we at All Guard Products introduce our new and truly spectacular teak-cleaning product to the teak community.

Both teak boat and teak furniture owners will benefit greatly from this truly unique wood-cleaning product. It uses no alkaline or caustic chemicals. It’s biodegradable, pH neutral, and environmentally very friendly.

New TeakGuard Super Cleaner is ¼ the volume of our oxalic acid product. Just 4 ounces cleans more area better, faster and easier than our 16-ounce oxalic acid product.

New TeakGuard Super Cleaner cleans so well it requires only about 10% of the labor required by our oxalic acid product. It removes more debris and teak resin with so little labor, no bronze wool, and no strong chemicals. You will think you are dreaming. Rinsing with fresh water, TeakGuard Super Cleaner leaves no residue.

New TeakGuard Super Cleaner is the clear winner over all other teak cleaning products. If you consider your time to be worth only $10 per hour, the reduction in cleaning time alone makes up for the small price difference.

As an example:

  • Our oxalic acid cleaner is $6.95 for 16 ounces and will do a swim platform provided you use $7 worth of bronze wool, a $3 sanding sponge, rubber gloves, and 2 or 3 hours of hard labor
    That adds up to $6.95 + $7 + $3 + $1 + 3*$10 = $47.95.
  • Super cleaner is $13.95 for 8 ounces and will do 2 swim platforms using only a $3 scrub brush and about 30 minutes of very light labor.
    That adds up to $7 + $3 + .5*$10 = $15.00 and the brush is re-usable.
  • We are so sure you will rave about our new cleaner, we offer this guarantee: If you do not agree that this is the easiest to use and most effective teak cleaner you have ever used, we will replace it with an equivalent amount of our oxalic acid cleaner for free.

    Usage Instructions

Remove all non-TeakGuard Finish by what ever method is recommended by the manufacture. Do not use sodium hydroxide cleaners. Most strippers will damage the caulking between boat decking planks so wet sanding is the best alternative.

If necessary or desired, wet sand your teak’s surface to produce the smoothness you want. This is generally only necessary on teak that has had mold or moss growing on it for an extended period of time or if you are trying to achieve a furniture like finish or if you are working with brand new furniture. Start with 50 or 60 grit waterproof sand paper. If a finer finish is desired finish wet sanding with 120 grit waterproof sand paper.

Apply TeakGuard Super Cleaner sparingly with a mist sprayer. Apply only enough cleaner to wet the area. Allow cleaner 60 to 90 seconds to soak in and break up the debris and teak resin on the surface of your teak (do not let it dry). Brush along the grain with a small plastic scrub brush on open areas and a hard bristle toothbrush or a grout brush in tight areas and corners where the larger brush will not fit easily. Brush long enough to loosen any remaining debris. Rinse with a slow running open hose while brushing until the water runs clear.

When the entire area or piece is cleaned, rinse the entire area with a hose and nozzle on high. Allow the wood to dry completely and inspect carefully for missed area. Re-clean and rinse as necessary.

Once cleaned and dried, apply 2 thin coats of TeakGuard Finish within several hours to avoid trapping mold spores on the surface of the wood or allowing the sun to bring additional teak resin to the surface. Allow the first 2 coats to cure for 24 hours. With clean course bronze wool (NEVER USE STEEL WOOL ON TEAK) lightly buff off the grain rise caused by the cleaning and TeakGuard Finish and apply 2 more thin coats of TeakGuard Finish. More Finish can be applied if a darker or smoother finish is desired.

It contains no acid or base and requires almost no scrubbing. Spray it on, let it work for 1 minute and brush the gray teak oil, and most other debris off you teak. What the brushing does not remove, a light buffing with bronze wool will remove easily. Rinse and let dry, then apply you TeakGuard Finish in thin coats. Traditional TeakGuard Cleaner is a specially formulated cleaner containing oxalic acid that is designed to reduce the cleaning effort required to prepare the surface of teak furniture, teak bright work and decking for a long lasting TeakGuard finish. For years the only finish recommended by westminster teak USA. Better that any oil product, and lasts longer that any teak sealer product. I want to thank the chemist who developed TeaQua. I've always been a fan of oils that are IN not ON the wood and the ease of application, water clean up and the look are outstanding. I heard about TeakGuard from a fellow sailor on one of the forums I visit. I tried it out on teak patio furniture and a red oak bench I built. From that experience I deemed it worthy of being applied to the teak on my Cape Dory 25D, Seraph. What an understatement. I spent 4 weekends removing the Cetol and 1/2 day applying TeaQua. I didn't use one piece of masking tape. I simply cut it in like a trim painter and came behind with a wet rag to wipe up any teakguard that got on the gelcoat. Couldn't have been easier unless done by someone else. Teakguard has caused quite a stir at my marina. Everyone is watching and taking bets on how long it will last. Having watched my patio furniture for 6 months I'm very optimistic. There may be a few varnish types at my marina throwing in the brush and converting to Teakguard. Thanks again for a fine product.
